PODCAST EPISODE 070: Penny Power OBE [Author/Entrepreneur]
My name is Christian Rodwell and today I’m talking with Penny Power OBE.
Penny launched an online business community in 1998, four years before LinkedIn. Trailblazing this concept with her husband Thomas Power, the two of them grew the network into a global community that supported hundreds of thousands of small businesses worldwide. In 2011 due to the banking crisis and the actions of a bank, Ecademy was sold and Penny’s lessons in business and life took her on a personal journey of rebuilding. Penny has dedicated herself through her honest speaking, community building, and friendship to thousands of business owners and corporate employees.
A highlight in Penny’s business and personal life came when she was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to entrepreneurship in social and digital development.
Penny has just released her new book ‘Business Is Personal: Be The Leader Of Your Life And Business’ where she shares the areas of business that are rarely discussed, but have been learned the hard way by Penny and others. The emotions we need to understand, the mind we can be in control of, and tools Penny learned, following years of hard work and many challenging moments. Penny has poured her heart into this book and it is incredibly revealing.
